Located on Church Street in downtown Tarboro, the museum honors the veterans who have served in the nation's wars from Edgecombe County. There are artifacts and pictures and descriptions of these heroes from Edgecombe who are cherished in memory. Located in the Old Town Hall building, the Belhaven Memorial Museum features the personal collection of Eva Blount Way, which includes a collection of buttons, coins, early American kitchenware, furniture, old farm tools, Civil War guns and World War helmets. Other items in the museum include rocks and stones from Will Roger's stable and the Wall of Jericho, preserved animals and two fleas dressed in formal wedding clothes. Attmore-Oliver House Museum Built in 1790 by Samuel Chapman, this house is home to rooms of Civil War memorabilia. The museum is located in New Bern, one of North Carolina's oldest towns, and one of the most central for the confederates during the Civil War. Guided tours occur on Friday and Saturday afternoons, as well as Haunted Evening Historical Drama performances offered on Saturday nights.
