This annual event celebrates the culture and heritage of African Americans in North Carolina. New Bern has a rich African American history, and people come from all over to enjoy it at Duffest. There is a grand parade, as well as live cultural music, food, and games. The festival is designed to support and foster community pride and unity.

This event is one of the biggest festivals in North Carolina. More than 80,000 visitors attend annually to enjoy downtown New Bern and its waterfront. There is live stage entertainment, as well as a kids' corner with amusement rides, fun activities, puppets, rock climbing, and more.

Colonial Christmas Celebration

This event takes place at the renowned Tyron Palace, where colonial characters give guests a truly unique experience as they stroll through the beautiful decorative pathways. Instrumental groups play favorite Christmas carols, and local bakers and craftspeople sell their products throughout the gardens.

Annual Neuse River Days

Designed for those who love the outdoors. There are canoe and kayak races, including the Neuse River Classic and the River Dog Relay Race. There are also less serious races, where some entries are entertaining creations which may or may not float. Neuse River Days also offers crafts, games, music, and other festival favorites.
